The one session
too many
I picked up a knee tendinitis I could easily have avoided. Instead of easing off, I trained through it. Way too much.
On the day of the scan, the doctor tells me there are 3 millimeters left before the tendon ruptures. I thought: "I screwed up." Every injured athlete says the same. What followed: months off, and nearly a year of rehab.
What I lacked wasn't motivation — it was too much of it. It was someone telling me, before the verdict: rest, ease back in, adapt your plan.
Engineer and athlete, I designed the tool I wish I'd had.
